Birds are found throughout the lands flying through the sky or pecking at the ground for grubs and seeds. There are many varieties of birds but all of them share a few common characteristics such as wings, feathers, and beaks. Birds tend not to be aggressive toward larger creatures that could eat them; though, in greater numbers they are known to mob such creatures in an effort to drive them away from nests. Many people keep birds locked in a cage as a pet, perhaps in order to hear their melodic bird song.
Birds are hunted primarily for their feathers and their meat. The feathers are useful to fletchers for arrow and bolt making, but ordinary birds provide the fewest amount of usable feathers of all feather-bearing creatures. Bird meat is common in cuisine all across Britannia and travels can readily find merchants willing to buy or sell such meat.
